Teacher Appreciate Week Launches Virtually May 4th, Thanks to the Power of Partnerships
In these unprecedented times and with the suspension of on-site school days, 2020 Teacher Appreciation Week will look very different. The power of partnerships will allow us to celebrate and recognize our teachers in innovative ways. Teacher Appreciation Week is usually filled with cards created by students, teacher lounges filled with sweet treats and carry-in lunches, and many hugs from students and parents. This year, Teacher Appreciation Week will look different; however, it will not be any less meaningful.
The Regional Office of Education #1 is grateful to partner with the Tracy Family Foundation and Leaders for Life (formerly known as ACASI) to recognize teachers in a ten county region. May 4th through May 8th, teachers who serve Adams, Brown, Cass, Morgan, Scott, Pike, Hancock, Schuyler, McDonough, and Greene Counties will be celebrated virtually. These ten counties represent the six ROE #1 counties and the four additional counties that the Tracy Family Foundation serves.
This partnership provides resources for teachers to be spotlighted collectively and individually. Throughout the week of May 4th, the partnership will showcase all public and private school teachers, through multiple virtual platforms including the ROE #1 Facebook page and website. While the current environment does not allow for carry-ins or hugs, together this partnership will share stories of success, celebrate the art of teaching, and give gifts of appreciation.
